The art of zipping.

I haven't blogged recently because I've been busy... yey! I have 3 projects coming and I have to start with all of them this week. This should keep my mind off negative people. Grrr. Anyway, last Sunday I decided to join the Zips or Poi class in Valle Verde 1. (Photo: Courtesy of planetzips.multiply.com)

Zips are those colored strings that the "bagets" play or dance with on the beach. Lol. It's the more fun and safer alternative to Poi or fire dancing. Zipping is said to actively integrate the left and right sides of the brain (which I'm so not good at) and increase cardiovascular fitness. The only reason why I joined this class is because I have this vision of myself dancing in a beach in O.C. Lol. There's one beach I went to recently (I'm not sure if it was Huntington or Redondo) where there were a group of people playing music with their bongos, or whatever they were. They were playing for fun and not for money. They seemed so happy and carefree that I just wanted to join them and dance to their music. Baduy noh? But yeah, that would be cool.

Today I learned some basic moves. And I must say, they aren't as easy as they look. Coordinating both left and right movements, each having their own task is sooo complicated. It was also kinda embarassing because I believe I was the oldest in the group. Jamie, who taught me the uh.. the flip.. or was it the uh.. skirt.. asked if I was still studying and when I told her I was already old, she said I looked young and that she was probably older than me. She was 23 by the way. Geez.
