Eeeooowww!

I recently bought a Sally Hansen Extra Strength Brazilian Bikini Waxing & Shaping Kit and just tried it a few hours ago - yep, getting ready for the beach in a week. I've had a Brazilian wax done twice already but this is the first time I've done it by myself. Although it does save you the embarassment of having your privates - front and back - be seen by someone other than your O.B., self-waxing down there is difficult and messy. I wax my underarms, yes - but that is a totally different ball game. Lol. I must say it's pretty difficult to wax hardly seen areas in awkward angles. Plus cleaning up your mess afterwards isn't something you want to do after all that you've just gone through.

So why did I decide to do it on my own then? Well I admit, it is pretty embarassing to have someone remove all your pubes from front to back. The excruciating pain is the same whichever the case, but doing it in the privacy of your own room allows you enough time to breathe out the pain. And most especially, if you're in a financial crunch - like yours truly - getting a kit is definitely going to save you a lot. It only costs $10 and will probably last you 5 sessions tops. That would save you Php 2,500 to Php5,000 (depending on the salon and gratuity). Then again, if you can spend for your bush, I suggest you stick to the salon ;). Besides it's only my first time. I will probably get the hang of it on my 3rd try.

The kit includes the wax, spatulas, handy mirror, trimming scissors, finishing oil, and a breathable panty (or whatever it was). Along with the kit, I got myself a Sally Hansen Medicated Zero Bumps Pads For Bikini & Underarm, which helps prevent and eliminate bumps and ingrowns which we usually get after shaving or waxing.
