Lohan as Monroe.

On the cover of New York magazine, on its last February issue was Lindsay Lohan looking hot in a Marilyn Monroe shot. Bert Stern took a series of photos of Monroe weeks before the actress died of an overdose - photographs collectively known as "The Last Sitting." Forty-six years later, Stern restaged the shoot at the Hotel Bel-air with the original set, using film camera and the same lighting, but with Lindsay Lohan posing as the steamy Monroe.

And I quote NY mag, "Stern excavated and preserved the poignant humanity of the real woman — beautiful, but also fragile, needy, flawed — from the monumental sex symbol. In our armored, airbrushed age, his achievement feels almost revolutionary."

Lohan and Monroe have their own similarities, the reason why Stern chose Lohan for the shoot. Like Monroe, who was the original tabloid queen, Lohan had her fair share of controversy and is dubbed as one of the "bad girls" in the industry. I mean, who would do a better Monroe, Britney the fat-ass slut, Paris the skinny whore, or Lindsay the thrice-rehabbed beauty? Lol. Lohan was honored to be chosen as she herself is a big Monroe fan. She owns several Monroe memorabilia including an apartment where the legend once lived.

Lohan posed nude in the photos, with a mere slightly see-through scarf to cover some skin. Censored classic!

I checked it out. Can't believe people have such strong opinions about the shoot. I mean it's just a photo shoot. Lol. Bad girls will be bad girls. I didn't find it distasteful.. but I believe the magazine itself went overboard on the nudity. Screw the mag, not Lohan. I lurve her!!! :)
