SICK of the news.

I'm so sick of the local news. A month ago, I was intently watching the news to get updates on the ZTE scandal... until the news became the same old story repeating itself... everyday - nothing new, no developments AT ALL. Sickening. Then recently, for a few weeks now, the news has been featuring - EVERYDAY - the rice shortage, the long lines for the NFA rice, and locals being interviewed on their opinions on the rice price hike. Everyday man, SAME OLD SH*T!!! It's just plain sickening. I've heard that same news everyday for two weeks now. Don't they have anything else to report on? My take on it is that, if the news ain't new, might as well report on something else. One day they'll say there is no rice shortage, then the next day the same person says there may be a rice shortage. Then another person says the people should not be hoarding rice, since there is no reason to panic-buy.. then you hear from another camp that people have a reason to hoard sacks of rice since the price gets higher and higher everyday. Why don't we just all eat mashed potatoes...

It's not only the redundancy that's sickening, but the depressing news as well of government corruption, senseless murders, poverty and the continuous fall of the economy. In one country, sorry but my short term memory fails me, people have already reached the point of rushing to the streets and stealing goods from stores in protest of price hike on food. Depressing. In our country, people don't seem to be too affected by it, or perhaps they choose to ignore it. It makes me want to leave all the more. Or maybe I'm just in a very bad mood. PMS, you know.
