The 5 must-haves.

Like any girl must have a little black dress, she too must have these 5 styles of shoes in her closet... or so Rachel Zoe says. This celeb-stylist for stars like bad girls Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie, recently featured her 5 favorite classic-slash-timeless styles in my ultimate fave shoe site, Piperlime.com.



1) A Timeless Patent
Zoe says that if you were to invest in one patent, make it black. It always stays current and gives a dramatic effect. Like this Dolce Vita Duchess round toe dress pump ($125) - I want one of these!

2) The Simple Riding Boot
This is a true classic.. every season they appear on the runway in some shape or form. Zoe loves them with leggings and an oversized sweater. (Originally made to be used for horseback riding, I personally think these riding boots are just not fit for our tropical weather.. but I agree, they are a classic.) Zoe's pick is this La Canadienne Pisa ($298).

3) A Stunning Red Shoe
This is the perfect way to punch up a little black dress. Zoe adds, "don't go crazy or you'll look like Minnie Mouse. I mean, nothing against Minnie, I love her." Ganech. This Jessica Simpson Bacton ($85, patent with suede bow) is definitely stunning.

4) The Fabulous Flat
Think you need heels to strut your stuff? Not anymore. Designers have definitely figured out how to make flats fabulous and stylish. Among Zoe's picks is this pretty Isaac Mizrahi Garland (now $158.99, from $265).



5) A Wild Animal Print
Take things up a notch with animal prints. They add just the right amount of flash to a great pair of jeans and a tank. I'm not a fan of wedges, but if these were pumps, they'd be hot hot hot - Charles David Slope ($250).

I know Rachel Zoe's personal picks are not only expensive, but also not available locally. But that's the fun part of it, shopping for the right pair of shoes and finding the perfect pair at a much cheaper peso price!

So I checked out my shoe closet if I had at least one of Zoe's must-haves. Hurmm.. well I have a pair of red flats which is simply fab. And that's about it. Lol. I mostly have pumps of other colors and flip-flops. I have black patent ballet flats, but I don't think they're timeless. I used to have boots, but our hot weather just ruined them. Ugh. I have a pair or red heels, pretty sexy, but not like mega stunning. So I guess that can pass. Animal print? I think I want one!!
